It's been awhile

I have not posted lately. There's not too much new and exciting going on. Justin and I have started to go bowling a lot. There's a bowling alley down the street from our house that just opened. We usually go on Monday nights because it's $1.50 a game + shoe rental. That's cheap compared to the usually $3.50 a game + shoe rental. Other than that I haven't done too much except cleaning, laundry (it amazes me how much laundry two people can create) and student teaching. Student teaching is going smoother than I thought it would, and I am very greatful for that. Yesterday mark the halfway point for my second placement.
Now I am beginning to job hunt. I am going to a career fair April 16 and I have applied for an assistant director position at one of the child development centers on post. Ft. Lewis has 3 openings for the assistant director, at 3 different child development centers so I am hoping to get one of them. It is also a job I could transfer from post to post when we move and if there's an opening.
Today I am helping a friend move, she has a one year old so I will probably be watching the one year old. So I better go so I can get up to her house...

The Dreaded TWS

I procrastinated on a paper that I definitely should not have. And I'm still not quite done. I have probably 3-5 more pages to go which will me this paper a whopping 40-45 page paper. I feel like all I have done this weekend is type, and now I am typing this blog, but I felt like I needed a few minutes to break from this paper and give a little update. Justin's back only to start more training and classes tomorrow, which could mean late nights and early mornings for him. Before he deploys he is also hoping to get into WLC (Warriors Leaders Course) which is a month long course of hard work so he can be promotable in the next year. He would like to get promoted while he is overseas because they don't take taxes out of his checks while he is deployed. Which also means they would not take taxes out of a re-enlistment bonus either. It doesn't really matter to me as long as he comes home safe. He also thinks after his deployment we will be moving again, and I am excited to see another part of the country, and there is a possibility of us moving to Korea also.
Anyways that's an update with justin I am finished with my first student teaching placement. 8 weeks went by really fast and I am getting ready to spend my next 8 weeks with 3 to 5 year olds. I am definetely going to need some prayer because I have heard the school is not doing too well and there is not consistancy for the children and the rules can be changed by the hour. The director has also been known to treat people cruely until they leave. I am hoping things go smoothly for the 8 weeks I am there and that it goes by quickly. Washington's schools don't break for the summer until June so I am hoping in May to get my emergency subing license and I will be able to sub in May and June. Hopefully.
Well I've now taken a break, it's time to wake Justin up from his nap and finish this paper!

A Week On My Own

So Justin left Thursday to go to Oregon for some training. So I get the whole house for a week. But really I've been working on a paper and doing laundry and I have plans on cleaning. It's been nice because I can catch up on house work and hopefully next weekend everything will be done and I can spend some time with my husband. But now it's back to the teacher work sample...

Happy Valentine's Day!

Well I hope you all had a great day. Justin was able to sneak out of the house this morning and brought me back some beautiful flowers. It was kinda funny because he called me downstairs and was giving me a hug at the bottom of the stairs and kinda pulling me into the living room. He finally said "I think I broke the TV" When I looked at the TV there was a bouquet of flowers and a card. The cats managed to knock the flowers off the TV in about 15 minutes but I think I've managed to save them. And yesterday while I was out I got Justin his card and an electric shaver he's been wanting.
Our friend Trista's husband is at WLC (Warriors Leader Course) so he doesn't get to come home for right now. So Justin and I went to the Olive Garden with Trista and our other friend we met through Trista, Aaron. After the Olive Garden the four of us went to a hockey game (Justin's a big fan of the Seattle Thunderbirds a minor league hockey team). It was nice getting to hang out with friends and we really enjoyed the day.
But it is now 11:15 and I think it's way past my bedtime!

The Case of the Missing hair ties

Every night before I fall asleep I put my hair tie on the window sill by my bed and every morning I wake up and it's gone. When I come back from work and I find it on the floor or somewhere in the house.
And this morning I finally figured it out. And I'm sure all of you have too. Jack climbs up on the window sill and steals my hair tie. And right now he is chasing it around the floor. So I guess it's one of his favorite toys!!

Well another week has flown by. Tomorrow is a half day at school and we also don't have school on Friday or Monday so that makes for a short week. Even though tomorrow is a half day the teachers have to be at the school for the full day. But it snowed here today so I'm hoping for a snow day! There's not much snow, but it's a lot to people in this area of Washington I guess.
I am hoping this weekend to work on my Teacher Work Sample (TWS), the big paper that is due in a few weeks. My TWS score determines whether or not I get my teaching license so I tend to get a little stressed about it.
But I think it's time for bed. Oh yea, hey uncle Matt I wanted to tell you that the first day we moved in Justin wanted to make the spare bedroom into his wrestling/workout room, since you said something about wrestling in your comment. I don't think I'm going to let him do that. I'm sure that when Mom, Dad, and Abby come out they'd like a room to sleep in.
I also took a picture of the snow on the trees. It's the view I see looking out my office window.
